Olive Oil – To Fry or Not To Fry?
A staple ingredient in the Mediterranean diet, olive oil has countless remarkable properties. It can be used in any cooking method: baking, grilling and frying. In fact, frying with olive oil is one of its most popular uses in Mediterranean countries.
Unlike other oils, it’s able to withstand high temperatures without breaking down and losing any of its properties. Another advantage of using olive oil for frying is that it forms a thin crust on the surface of the food that stops the food from soaking up too much olive oil, improves its flavour and preserves its nutrients.
